Name Change

Hi everyone, After a long time thinking. I decided to change the name of the group to Little Tokyo Paranormal Research Society. The new name represents where most of the members are from, and it sounds more professional. The old name JL & Associates Paranormal Investigations, is too self centered. It was all I can come up with in the beginning of the group when it was just me and one of my friends.

Most of our core members are people well known in the Little Tokyo Community. The new name doesn't mean that we will only be investigating in Little Tokyo, we will investigate outside of the area and throughout Southern California.. Future Investigations will include, Manzanar: looking for the ghosts of the past, Various Grave Yards like Hollywood Forever, and Evergreen, Calico Ghost Town, and Places that were never investigated before. Well, more to come...when I can think of anything else. Sorry its been so long since an update.

News
Equipment update, We have gotten all the video euipement needed, The camera's, Cords, tripods, DVR and Tuner needed for a Lap Top computer. I recently got my Nightscope and Nightscope Bracket that holds both a Camera, or video camera and Nightscope. Next up will be to get a few walkie Talkies, and cases to keep our tools in.

Updates
We now have a good core group of Investigators, we work well together. We had a rather successful ghost hunting trip to suicide bridge and the haunted forrest a few weeks ago. No spirits visited us, but it was great practice with our tools.

Upcoming Hunts
We will be having a Los Angeles River walk from South Pasadena to Pasadena and a walk to Highland Park, to test our groups Fear of the Dark, by Walking through one of the storm drains that run under the Pasadena Freeway. This will be a test to see how long you can stand in the dark without running out like a scaredy cat...lol We will be having it on Tuesday June 30 at 8:00pm. Equipment Update

Today, I finally recieved my order from the Ghost Hunter Store. We now have tripods for the IR Camera's we got last week, a TV tuner for Lam's Laptop and my nightvision scope. So now we are set for filming at JANM and EWP. We will have a practice run somewhere this weekend. I will write more later.

Getting Started

OK today's topic will be what you need for an effective Paranormal Investigation group. First you need a strong team of people, a well mix of both believers and skeptics. Around 6 to 8 people is good, so you can split up in two person teams. Next, you need some equipment, like EMF meters, Digital Recorders for EVP's, IR and video cameras, motion detectors, etc. Any forms of protection depending on your faith.

Why I got started in the paranormal field.

It all started when I was little around 4 or 5. I remember being in my room late at night, talking to this guy on the wall above my bedroom door. I clearly remember talking to him. Somehow I didn't think it was strange there was a person living in the wall, and I wasn't scared at all. I wonder if being born in Charleston South Carolina, might be the reason since its very haunted.

Now lets go forward 25 years in my apartment in Highland Park; I was in bed about to go to sleep very clearly in my left ear, I hear the voice of a female say, "He Hit Me", I was alone at the time with the window closed. I have seen black shadow people walking around in the upstairs bedrooms, white misty figures, hear my name being called, and had things disappear and then show up somewhere else after a week or month in some of the strangest places. I also have old pets I had growing up come visit me at times.

I am kind of sensitive, since I can hear Ghosts and sometimes see them. Some history of the apartment. It was built in 1965 by my Maternal Grandmother, to replace the house that stood on this spot of an unknown age. The only known death in one of the apartments was a suicide in the early 70's, but that doesn't explain the more then 5 spirits we have haunting this place. The area used to be Native American Land before the founding of Los Angeles. Highland Park is in the middle with South Pasadena, Eagle Rock, Pasadena, and Lincoln Heights surrounding it. A suburb of Los Angeles.

Then you are probably wondering why I started my own Ghost Hunting group, and not scared out of my mind of whats really out there. I being a Buddhist don't really believe in Demons, I do believe that there are really evil people out there, Ghosts are just people who no longer have a physical bodies. They keep the personalities that they had in life. With all the experiences I had growing up in this apartment, I really want to know if there is an afterlife, or are we stuck living our lives without a body when we die...
